Of course, you can’t head to Sydney, Australia without having a peek at the Sydney Opera House. Think about it – it’s probably one of the most iconic places in the world! It was originally opened to the public in 1973 by Queen Elizabeth II and since then has become the concert place of many a famous star and starlet. With over 3,000 performances on a yearly basis, it has an audience size of around two million annually.
2. Sydney Harbor Bridge
If you are already in Sydney, you may as well head right on over to the Sydney Harbor Bridge, which is almost as iconic as the opera house itself. Known to the locals by the name of “The Coathanger”, it was opened a little way before the opera house, originally in 1932. You can see amazing views of the harbor with the guided tours that happen, taking you right up into the top of the span at the centre of the bridge, both during the day where you can see the beautiful views, and during the night where coloured lights make everything that little bit more breathtaking.
