It’s March now and it will soon be spring. For some of us, the warm weather that spring and summer 2016 offers cannot come soon enough but for those of you have the luxury to travel, we have decided to daydream about the beautiful and most exciting places on earth to visit at this lovely and balmy time of year.
When the weather starts to get a bit nicer and the cold, bitter winds of the winter before seem to die down, there is no prettier and more relaxed place on earth than Dublin, Ireland.
Phoenix Green, for example, is the perfect place for a springtime picnic with your loved one or your children, and when you are bored of this park, there’s always Stephen’s Green that you could visit to feed a duck or two.
For the more adult ones that travel to Dublin, you cannot visit without trying the famous drink from the country – Guinness.
Why not visit the factory and have a glass of Guinness or two/three/four? You could even nurse your Irish hangover, (and you can’t leave Ireland without experience at lease the hint of one) with a leisurely and relaxing stroll around Dublin Zoo – the perfect place to visit all sorts of wildlife that even the kids would enjoy.
For those of you that are looking for something a little more exciting, there are plenty of shopping centers and boutiques for you to spend your hard earned cash on, and you could always try travelling a little further afield in Ireland and head to places such as Killkenny for the 400 year old history, Westport, where you can indulge in a spot of golfing, and even check out the boats on the very watery place called Cork!
Before you dismiss travelling to New York for your spring getaway, you should just think to how cool it would be to have a lunchtime picnic with your girlfriends in Central Park – you could follow in the same footsteps as the guys from the hit TV show Friends and Sex and the City! You can even see art work if you go through the park at the right times (March) for a bit of culture thrown into the mix.
If you fancy a bit of alcohol, much like when you go to Dublin, you should head on over to the Brooklyn Brewery which has recently expanded to give you even more bang for your buck!
You’re going to want to enjoy some dining al fresco if you head to New York and thankfully, with the balmy spring nights, you will find a whole host of restaurants willing to cater for you. A couple that you should most definitely look out for include Back Forty when you can enjoy some home-grown delights and if it’s Italian that you’re after, check out the infamous Gnocco Cucina & Tradizione.
When you head to New York and you want a taste of the city, you’re going to want to hit the thrift stores to grab yourself a piece of American history – Hester street Fair is perfect for this where you can pick up anything from antique decor to vintage clothing.
We will continue the Top 10 Spring/Summer Getaways shortly, but for now we will let you go dreaming of gorgeous New York-Italian restaurants and enjoying a spot of golfing in Dublin…. Doesn’t it make you want to pack your suitcase?
